First impressions of new signings
Best of the bunch could be Havard Nordtveit who looks a class act, Gokhan Tore looks lively and although his crossing was hit and miss on Sunday the ball into the box for the goal was sublime.
Masuaku at LB looks solid and Feghouli looks like he will give Tore a run for his money as a player who gives the team some width.
Jonathon Calleri could have won the crowd over instantly if he had converted that last minute golden chance against Bournmouth, it wasn't to be but he showed some nice touches on the ball nevertheless.
All in all, the squad looks healthier with these signings.

Re: First impressions of new signings
Indeed they are not free, especially when signing such dross brings in less PL place money or worse.

Re: First impressions of new signings
Would have been happy with Redmond or Townsend.
Redmond scored in both games against us as well I recall.
Guess he cost £10m & Feghouli was free .....

11 games is fair enough to see if Zaza can do it. If not, back he goes.

Re: First impressions of new signings
i think Zaza has to play another 11 games to make the move perm.

Why the hell we didn't go in for Redmond I'll never know.
Bilic bangs on about signing English players, then just just one youngster and brings in dross like Tore and Fegholi.

How many games does Zaza have to play before we actually have to buy him for over £20mil

Canvey

Agreed about redmond - I've been banging that drum for a while now, I think he'd have been a great signing for us.

In fairness I never imagined tore would look so poor - he looked like a good player!

I'd pick Calleri ahead of Zaza.......... he's missed a few chances but at least he is getting chances. i cant remember Zaza looking a threat at any point.

" Nord has looked decent in his actual position"

Thought he played he normal position against Chelsea and was absolute toilet . Improved against Bournmouth in the second half so can only hope he isn't as Dogshit as he has played so far

Re: First impressions of new signings
I see promise in Feghouli and Nord has looked decent in his actual position. He's really suffered from being slotted into various positions as cover so far and having no consistency.

Feghouli's injury has probably hampered his progress as well.

I think these two will prove their worth though.

Re: First impressions of new signings
Calleri should stay. At least give him a chance to adapt and see what he can do. He's not essential to the first team so has the luxury of time.

Zaza needs to come good very quickly or we might as well send him back at the end of the year.

Tore just looks to be a waste of a squad position and wages at the moment.

Re: First impressions of new signings
Bilic went on about how crucial it is to have English core and then went on to sign hardly any.

Re: First impressions of new signings
Have faith in:

Fletcher, Fernandes, Nordveit, Arthur, Arbeloa, Feghouli

Tore, Calleri and Zaza should be sent home in January.

Dont mean to sound like a brexit voter but imagine we had Austin and Redmond instead of Tore and Zaza.. We would be so much better off.

Forgot about Fletcher
Shows promise and should be learning his trade as the 4th striker

Re: First impressions of new signings
Fletcher and Fernandes have youthful exuberance and potential, the rest are rubbish. The worrying thing is that Bilic pursued Tore, who is a poor man's, fatter, slower Faubert!

Sven Roeder 8:17 Wed Sep 28
Re: First impressions of new signings
Arbeloa is a good solid professional and can do a job
Arthur the same disregarding his nightmare at West Brom
Fernandes I think has something about him and can become a player
Ayew is a good Premier league player ... Get well!

Tore .... poor mans Kyel Reid
Feghouli .... keep thinking Julian Faubert. Sorry
Nordviedt ..::: slow, too slow
Callieri .... lightweight and anonymous
Zaza .... unsuitable

Re: First impressions of new signings
Feghouli looked good pre season.

But they are all pretty rubbish including Fegholi.

Shit is a strong word but they are pretty shit.

Please God they prove me very wrong.
